Bridgette Smith

Bridgette Smith has a background in communications. She is the Founder of Lassoo Media and PR. The Vice President of the Commercial Communications Council and Chairs the board of the Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa. Bridgette believes that we must take care of our own backyard before we look off shore for doing social good. Aotearoa, New Zealand is so very fortunate and we should not have the problems of poverty and dis-engaged youth we do. Our rangitahi need us to help change the cycle and provide them the positive futures they deserve. Crescendo serves this purpose every day.

Juan Powell

Juan is a qualified accountant and is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand organisation. Juan has almost 30 years commercial accounting experience, currently working for Fonterra as a senior Commercial Manager having worked for a number of large FMCG companies during his career. Juan supports the Crescendo trust as treasurer; he is related to Marcus Powell, considering him as a brother but technically an uncle, despite Marcus being younger. Juan interests include off road motorcycling, V8’s and any most form of motorsports as well as a staunch supporter of the All Blacks and NZ rugby. Juan is married with a 17 year old son.

Damian Vaughan

Damian is the current CEO of Recorded Music NZ, the industry organisation representing recording artists and record companies in New Zealand. In addition to advocating for the rights of its members, Recorded Music NZ also administer collective broadcast and public performance licensing, produce the annual Vodafone NZ Music Awards, the Official NZ Top40 Charts, the NZ Music Hall of Fame and administer a Music Grants programme for educational and/or charitable music projects.

Wi Pere Mita

Wi Pere Mita

Wi Pere is a lawyer, mediator and consultant with over 10 years’ experience in governance and law. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and holds a number of directorships and governance roles in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Wi Pere has practice experience in the areas of intellectual property, commercial law, HR, media, broadcasting & entertainment law and Māori legal issues. He also has a background in Māori performing arts and is involved with the commercial operations of New Zealand’s national Māori performing arts society, Te Matatini and its subsidiary company, Aotearoa Kapa Haka Limited.

James Roberts

James has over 16 years’ experience in the communications industry across both advertising agencies and media organisations such as NZME and Mediaworks. He is well regarded in the industry for his strategic thinking and has been recognised both internationally and locally for his work. James has been involved with the Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa for three years and was appointed to the board in August 2020. He is hugely passionate about the organisation and feels extremely privileged to be given the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Trust.

Craig Spillane is the owner and Managing Director of a successful accredited Media Agency, Bullseye Media Ltd. Bullseye Media launched in 1997 and has been responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of media for a number of local and international brands including Sony PlayStation, Absolut, C4 Music Television, Warner Music, JB HiFi, Yamaha and Lighting Direct. He is also a shareholder for a large family businesses XPO Exhibitions and sits on the Commercial Communications Council’s Media Committee representing Independent Media Agencies. He is keen to assist the Crescendo Trust mentor programme and those young people it supports. To make a difference by assisting the trust’s work for productive and engaged creative pathways for positive change.
