What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect your personal information in order to:

  • provide information about our youth programmes and services
  • be able to contact you if anything changes with our events, programmes and services.
  • provide the best possible service to you which requires information to tailor our services to your needs.

 

Comments

We don’t currently allow comments on our site to prevent spam.

Media

If you upload images to the website or social media, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you provide us with information via a contact or enquiry form, that data will only be accessed by appropriate staff. We may pass on relevant content from that form to other people within the organisation, or other third parties who administer or are participating in the particular project or consultation that the submission form relates to. This could include your email address and other identifying information.

You may choose to disclose additional personal information to us when you enquire or submit forms. This information can be viewed by site administrators, certain staff and sometimes third-party contractors who administer or work on the site, or who work on special projects with us.

We ask that you don’t send us sensitive personal information or include any sensitive personal information in forms.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. You can choose to clear them out of your web browser after browsing without affecting your ability to use the site.

We collect the following analytics data in order to ensure we are providing the best service possible. All analytics data is anonymized (Google Analytics, Search Console etc.)

What third parties we receive data from

We collect anonymous data from Google Analytics and do not use identifiers so it is anonymous. This is to ensure our services and online communications are optimized for the devices, locations and other anonymous information that this system provides.

 

How long we retain your data

We retain data indefinitely or until it is requested to be deleted by the owner of the data.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Who we share your data with

Besides our staff, we share this information with:

  • third party suppliers, only when absolutely necessary, in order to to allow them to administer events or provide services included in our programmes.

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter contact information, we’ll be unable to provide specific services.

How we protect your data

We keep your information safe by storing it safely on protected servers and only allowing staff to access this data. 

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the unlikely event of a data breach we will notify anyone that has provided contact details that have been affected. We will also send an email to our mailing list to notify anyone that has subscribed there.

 

What rights you have over your data

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, or deleted please contact us at info@crescendo.org.nz.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
