The LinkUp

Crescendo’s programmes focus on a range of song writing, audio engineering, sound profuction and radio broadcasting courses with an aim to empower young people to both express themselves as well as gain transferable skills that they can use in any future pathway. We lead with aroha and envision a future where young people are empowered to value the lives they lead.

We are here to help rangatahi navigate their waka.

We call our programmes The LinkUp. The LinkUp allows you to pick the modules that will benefit you in your journey to being a more self sustained artist. The music industry has multiple pathways. We’ve compiled these pathways into specific units and broken down each unit into modules. Our units cover beat making, production, song writing, live performance, radio broadcasting, how to promote yourself and more!

Pathways

When

Each module in the LinkUp is taught weekly. Our weekly group sessions are run two times a day (10am-2pm with time for lunch and 4pm-7pm) on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We recommend each young person book for 1 of these sessions only 1 day/week. Advanced students have the option to book in for additional solo sessions anytime from 10am-7pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, where they are making all the music and pushing all the buttons.

We can also offer 2 hour 1:1 mentoring sessions for those looking for intensive sound recording and radio teaching and or want a way to ease into group work.

Each week rangatahi will progress through learning modules, until they complete and receive their certificate. The learning modules are set up to run from 1-6 weeks in length and are designed so that you do not need to take the sessions consecutively, allowing for the rangatahi to book in their learning to suit their schedule.

Cost

With this in mind, our group sessions on Mon, Tues and Thurs are $150+gst and our 2 hour, intensive 1:1 sessions (if applicable) are $100+gst each. The solo are for advanced students, they are free and must be booked in advance.

If you are not able to afford these charges, please don’t worry, we’re still keen to work with you. Just let us know if you need to apply for a scholarship for partial or the full amount and we’ll work with you to get you set up, pain free.
